Just from the few trailers and previews I've seen, I predict that Tommy Lee Jones as General Douglas MacArthur will go down in history as one of the most spectacularly bad casting choices of all time.
If anybody bothers to see the movie, that is.

I always loved the subject so I will probably see it.

Oh, there are dozens of actors who could do a better Doug MacArthur, they just aren't stars of Jone's caliber.

Having a history degree and knowing a lot of people, I like when movies like this come out cause people always pay to take me to them. They literally assume I know everything about the history of the world, which of course is absolutely true.
