quote:I can't confirm the ribbon for in service or just time served during the conflict - I served two tours there in 65 through 68 and have clusters for each campaign in country - google will have pics of the in country ribbons - only way to confirm anyone's svc there is from their DD214 - either way the man is a vet.
It's a Vietnam Service ribbon. I'm pretty sure it's only given to people that were in country.

One of us us wrong, but it isn't me. To get awarded the yellow and green Vietnam Service Medal you had to serve in Vietnam, Cambodia, parts of Thailand or Laos between 65 to 74.
I'd say that defines a Vietnam Vet.

I actually hosted a party last night and the Duck Dynasty crew and Chef Cory Bahr(Food Network "Chopped" champion and will be on "Iron Chef" in Feb. ) were the special guests. I had Willie, Jep, Mrs. Kay, Godwin, their brother Allan who preaches and hasn't been on the show and some of the wives. They are good people and support the community. If you are from Monroe/West Monroe you can tell some of the locations are staged but like others said, the back and forth is real. We had people from LA,TX,MS and TN at this thing. They are the most watched show in A&E's history so they are doing something right and people obviously watch.

If you lived in Monroe this was required.

I watched an episode the other night and they were putting up Christmas lights. The leaves on all the trees and bushes were dark green and when they all went outside to turn on the lights the bugs were chirping in the background. Kinda wierd for North Louisiana in December?

Just beacuse he isn't black, doesn't mean you have to hate on Uncle Si.
