The Order of the Dragon was established by Emperor Siguismund. He inducted Draclua's father (Vlad II). In Romanian, "dragon" or "devil" is "Dracul." Vlad III was known as the Dragon (Dracul) by allies, and as the Devil by foes. In Romanian, adding the "a" to the end of "Dracul" makes it "son of the Dragon (Devil)"...ie Dracula.
