What about when a black person refers to the "African-American community" or "black community". So many years fighting for equality and ending segragation, yet they continue to segregate themselves.

On another note, why is it always African-American? Why is not just American? All the fuss about racism. It seems to me that it's the races and nationalities that differentiate themselves.

ETA: I would like to add that I do understand there is definitely still racism and biggotry. I'm not blind to facts. I just think some people have blinders on to the fact that they are hurting their own cause with some of their actions.

If they did do a "White In America" you would never hear the end of it.

Do you really need a White in America? Just shut up and be fortunate that you have the benefit of being white, because as much as you want to think blacks and whites are anything close to equal, it couldn't be farther from the truth.

When you choose to ignore the Al Sharpton's of the world you will realize that life is much easier and racism will decline.

That is a bs statement, usually made by whites. If you were a little darker you would understand that America is not equal. However I do agree with you. Shows like this just stir the pot. I need to see a White in America, Hispansic in America, Samoan in America...etc.

I agree to a degree Busch, but inequality was evident in the episode last night, with the well dressed black male trying to find a job. But to drive the point even further, and to add some validity they should of had a white male try for the position too.
But I understand the point you are trying to get across, I for one would like to see an end to all ethnic, and sex history months, and just celebrate american history.

I am neither agreeing or disagreeing with you here, but on what do you base this statement?

Ok. A fellow co-worker (who is black) and I were talking and we both agreed that the media can make races (particularly blacks) feel as if they are still stuck at the bottom of the melting pot. I know that full equality is inevitable, but at the same time things are much better than they are portrayed sometimes.

Those are his words and I totally agree. I feel like sometimes the Af-Am race can cheat itself in a sense.

The show is just a thinly-veiled Obama for President ad, attempting to guilt people into voting for him.

But that's really only your (and one other guy's) opinion.

I would agree that economic pressures are probably more to overcome than racial pressures in this country (i.e. poor people have a harder time succeeding than rich people regardless of race) but to ignore racial pressures is also an error, at least IMO.

I'm not sure what this means, are you sure you meant inevitable?

Hey, you won't find an argument from me on that! I don't watch CNN or Fox news.

Hardcore leftist, yes, but I don't use my power on here to enforce it. Do I know you? Do you have an example of me doing such things?

I was wondering why he said that, too.
