Anybody else watching this? It's a 6 hour documentary on American Experience on PBS (3 segments 2 hours each) covering the history of the moon landing. It's shown already but it looks like it will repeat, starting tomorrow here, so set up the DVR's.
It's the best history documentary I've seen since Vietnam. Well done with some interesting insights and footage. It has some interesting interviews with Khrushchev's son about what was going on in the Russian program. After Kennedy announced that we were going to the moon Khrushchev decided not to try to beat us there since it would cost too much. But Brezhnev later took power and put the Russians back into the race. Earlier Kennedy offered to make it a joint mission and Khrushchev had agreed after initially refusing. But Kennedy was shot and after that NASA killed the idea.
It's nice to see a real documentary instead of the stupid crap that the History channel has become.

I started a thread yesterday. No one seemed to be interested. It's an amazing six hours of television.

How do I watch this? I'm currently watching "From Earth to the Moon" on HBO, and it's pretty good.

The link above has the PBS link to stream it all for free.
Or you can get the PBS App for Roku/Firestick/whatever.

it is awesome.
If you are into podcasts then I highly recommend 13 Minutes to the Moon. BBC production that has ten(I think) 45 minute episodes. I'm on #4 and its fantastic as well.

I finished it today. Hard to believe that was made in 1998. Lots of good actors in that series.
The ending was done well.
