The third season was under rated. Black Monsters skit was hilarious.

Charlie Murphy: "When you look at me, all you should see is a man. Not a black man."

Woman: "Ni**a you a Frankenstein!"

However, towards the end he began to feel that rather than healing the racial divide through humor, his sketches were actually promoting stereotypes and racism.

There was an episode of Iconoclast on IFC with DC and Maya Angelou (it's on youtube) She was not happy with his (or anyones) use of the n word. She stated her reasoning to DC and his face was like a kid knowing he was disappointing a parent. I don't know if the timing coincided, but it may be another reason.

So a subversive comic genius listened to a liberal media creation pawn?

Then maybe DC wasn't as cool as we thought...like Pryor...

quote:

"Liberal whites loved her but not because she was a truly gifted poet. Rather, they liked her because it was a way of proving to others how non-racist they were.

Angelou’s poetry was inane, boring, often scattered, and unoriginal. There was a black female poet from Los Angeles a number of years of ago who got herself in hot water because she dared to publicly admit what most of us already knew – Maya Angelou’s ‘talent’ in creating poetry is all hype.

President Bill Clinton tearing up as he was listening to one of Angelou’s ‘performance.’ That big phony didn’t give a crap about that old woman’s mindless ramblings. What he did care about was presenting the image that he deeply loved black people, that he was emotionally ‘moved’ by Angelou’s worthless regurgitations."

Damn, we forget how good Bill Clinton played the game. Even sex with a college co-ed couldn't do no harm.
