Neo-noir crime thriller film written and directed by The Wachowskis in their feature film directorial debut. Realistic portrayal of a lesbian relationship set to excessive violence.
The style and moderate success immediately led to The Matrix which is filmed with incredibly similar set designs, hues (dark greens and browns), and musical score.
Excellent movie if you want to see where the artistic inspiration for The Matrix originated.

I've seen the movie once or twice. I've watched certain clips over a hundred times in the late 90's.
