Costner simply can't pull this role off. The entire show, with its supposed Vito mafia thing just doesn't work... It seems corny.
It's not believable. No farmer or rancher would try to run some podunk organized crime syndicate today. The show should have been set in the 1870s or soemthing if they wanted to actually doe it rightm

John Dutton is the third best character on the show. Costner does a great job at it.

They are making her a little too hard this season. I get that she is the beaten and damaged daughter but she is a little too raw. If the writers would dial her back just a tad, it would be better for the show overall I believe. There is a difference in a maverick and a psycho bitch
They may have made Rip a little too much of a Bully as well. I get that he is a hard dude and has a chip on his shoulder but they need to be careful not to let things go too far. Show was amazing in the first season. So far the second season for me has been sketchy. Really hoping they get back on the rails.

She hates her dad for turning Rip into a bully. She hates her dad for taking Casey away from his family and turning him into a cutthroat. But she loves her dad and is doing what she can to protect him. She doesn't seem to care about the ranch, yet she is doing all she can to protect it. She did all she could to get Jamie out of the picture.
