everything you have said in this thread is the exact opposite of what I feel

Justin long was horrible on new girl I fricking despised him. zoey is toned down a lot once they realize she is the worst character and it basically becomes about the others with her as a side character. wayans character was pretty awful too. I've watched almost every episode of happy endings (probably missed the last 3 or 4 episodes) and while it was an above average comedy for what's on tv nowadays the cast is extremely mediocre when compared to new girl and P&R. I don't find it to be near their league

Couldn't agree more. New Girl has a near superstar in Zooey Deschanel and P&R has Amy Poehler, Aziz, Nick Offerman, and Chris Pratt. The cast in P&R is really second to none. I still don't enjoy the show very much. The cast in New Girl is really no better than Happy Endings, though, if, as you say, Zooey is toned down a lot. If she is, thank God, because she's a goddamn moron in the episodes I've seen.

But I'm not here to convince anybody. I just disagree with the sentiment that New Girl and P&R are better than any other sitcom on TV. Note that no one is debating me regarding Louie or Workaholics, which are "cool" to like. I find it humorous.

Now I'm apparently not the "smartest" knife in the drawer, which I find hilarious. I've made my points and backed them up. Aside from you, the responses have been:

quote:

Wayans sucked on the New Girl Pilot. Everyone keeps saying how funny he was..but in reality all he did was scream everything...not that funny

This tells me youve only seen the first season

Oh wow

Justin Long is terrible in almost everything he's in.

I think we learned that with his "This Is the End" thread

Aside from the very first response regarding Wayans only screaming to be funny, no one has said a substantive thing to back up their opinion against mine. As far as live-action sitcoms go, Happy Endings had more laughs than most for me. Most of P&R I spend thinking either "Wow, what a rip-off of a rip-off," or "I wish Ron Swanson had his own show." Most of New Girl I spend thinking either "Someone bash Zooey's brains in with a ball-peen hammer" or "Jesus, stop trying so hard." But again, that's my opinion and people are entitled to disagree. I only ask they do so with actual substance.

So I ask: Who's really the dull blade in the knife drawer? It isn't Fearthehat or me, I can assure you all of that.

And as a parting note, as I'm sure I'm about to get lambasted yet again for expressing an opinion that is contrary to the Movie/TV Board New Girl and P&R zealots, let me just say this:

This is the End got its balls blown by nearly every single person who commented on it on this board. People went nuts over it. Then the hype stopped. Coincidentally, I made a thread about how overhyped it was becoming just before the hype train really got going on this board. To all those who haven't seen it, or saw it much later than everyone else: You're welcome.
