Bad attempt at a trolling post since "To Kill a Mockingbird" is such a well know novel.

Truman Capote wrote To Kill a Mockingbird. Hehe
If you wanna stir shite compare TKAM to this book published 10+ yrs before, which concerns a young person and their lawyer relative defending a proud black man from a bigoted mob

So, without question, TKAM is Harper Lee's story. Now, having said that, Dill is obviously based on Capote as they were literally childhood (i.e. grade school) friends.
Also, there is little doubt she at least consulted with her childhood friend who was already a very accomplished author, playwright and screenwriter. Just as it is without question she assisted him with some of his work, notably, In Cold Blood.
In the final analysis the question is not, "Did Capote have a hand in TKAM?" It is more, "Where on the spectrum of assistance did Capote land on TKAM? It is certain and confirmed that he got her a literary agent. Otherwise, did he just act as a sounding board? Did he help her "pre" edit before sending to publisher? Did he ghostwrite small to large swaths? Did he write the whole damn thing based on her notes and outline?"
I guess that's where I'm at with it. A reasonable person, without inside knowledge, has to land on this "spectrum of assistance" position, IMHO.
