Don't know if this show was discussed back when it came out on CBS four years ago since I wasn't very active on this forum back then.
Just discovered it on Netflix recently, currently about four episodes in. Damn good series starring Dean "Mayhem" Winters as a police detective in the Cereal City. Only made it for 13 episodes, which is odd considering it's bloodline - it was created and written by Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad/X Files) and David Shore (House) and apparently was pretty heavily promoted when it debuted. Winters is fantastic as the world-weary Russ Agnew, being upstaged by "perfect" FBI agent Milt Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel), who's been assigned to open a field office in Battle Creek for reasons as yet unknown.
Thus far every episode features the trademark David Shore "hooray, we solved the case - no, wait we didn't" plot device he perfected on his many years working on House, but the crimes involved are varied and interesting (not the typical 'murder of the week' stuff). It was a primetime CBS show so the language and situations are TV-friendly (Detective Agnew says "crap" a lot).
I've always been a fan of Winters' "Mayhem" commercials, and discovered this show while checking out his credits on IMDB. Highly recommended.

My wife and I really enjoyed it while it was on, but that is typically a kiss of death for a show.
Recently did a rewatch on Netflix and enjoyed it again.
