i'm hoping they do the riddler as a zodiac killer style villain. let him send creepy letters and puzzles in the mail with a big reveal of who he is at the end. imo the riddler is the only villain left that will fit in the nolan universe. catwoman and the penguin are the other options, but i just can't see him going there.

Give me back the cartoon and put that on the big screen.

then who do you want in the 3rd movie?
Posted on 2/18/10 at 11:34 pm to 1999
1999, that would be acceptable.

I like this idea. It stays loyal to the dark tone of the series.

The Joker was awesome in the last movie, but I am really having a hard time understanding how they could have made a good movie with him as the main villain or at all. The last movie was 2 1/2 hours of him doing everything he possibly could do.
I know some would hate the idea, but think it would be unreal if the Riddler killed Joker in prison to frick with Batman. Make him mote like a serial killer definitely also.

And I swear to God, if Dick Grayson shows up in any form in a Nolan Batman I'll . . . I'll . . . well, shite. I'll just be royally pissed and boycott the damn picture. So there.
Nolan and Bale have said that he will not show up in any way, shape, or form, which leads me to believe this is total bullshite. Any rumor with Robin in it, and Johnny Depp being the Joker, you can easily cross out.

The Riddler won't work if he is some clown running around wearing a mask and a costume covered in question marks. he should probably remain unseen until the end of the movie. possible plot or sub-plot:
heinous crimes are being committed in Gotham and the only clues are these riddles can seem "un-solvable." To put an end to this mystery criminal, Batman must team up w/ Gordon and Fox to collectively solve the riddles and stop the crimes before they occur. Batman comes out of hiding and must also fight off the GPD trying to arrest/kill him.
that's just me spit-balling.
This is what pisses me off about all of this, is because people want a Joker without technically recasting the Joker. Thats the only reason people want the Riddler.... that and they want Johnny Depp to play him. If they are to have a character like this, the logical thing to do is to recast the character. He was initially planned for the third one and before Ledger died, Nolan kept on saying the main flaw of the first series is they killed off the Joker and didn't reuse him. He obviously had a major arc planned for him in the 3rd one.

Any of the villians in Batman could be explained in his "realistic" universe.
Poison Ivy and Mr Freeze could in no way be explained in this universe. Batman isn't a superhero in Nolan's universe, only a vigilante. He's like a modern Robin Hood in Nolan's universe.

Who all thinks that the Joker was supposed to be the villain in more than one film?
I mean, he did survive.
Ledger dying threw a monkey wrench in the third film.
I do know that the original plan for the trilogy was for the Joker to throw acid on Harvey Dent's face in the third one and then escape from Arkham to reek more havoc on the city. Even without Ledger's death that wouldn't have happened since they decided that Two Face would appear in the second film and die, but the Joker was certainly supposed to be the main villain of the 3rd film. Nolan should still go to plan on what he originally wanted to do.

I honestly can't see how they could have made another movie with the joker as a key villain without it becoming tired.

There are many movies with the same villain and they don't become tired. A great villain can own more than a single movie. I think Ra's al Ghul (represented by Talia) would also be a great villain to introduce in the final film, since Gotham may seem unsavable in the final movie and have Bruce actually question his actions and think about joining them.

Lets think about this for one moment. Riddler would obviously probably be more realistic, than any other batman comic or movie has done so to date. The Riddler will obviously come off as a mystery character making him more of a physiological character in the new batman movie. Someone who would seem to be crazy but the good guy in the entire movie.Nolan said he didn't want to have penguin or any other fake shitz in his Batman movies. He wanted a pure realistic movie. They won't combine with a superman universe because superman is completely fake and bullshitz. While Batman(the newer movies) are more real then fake.

Once again with this Johnny Deep shitz, Johnny Deep is alright but hes not really capable of being the riddler. Sweeny Todd was ok, not great at all.

yea I really don't want to see depp as the bad guy

al Ghul as the villian would work, I think. He's got a certain darker element to him that I feel would really work with the current approach we've seen.
I also think that Dick Grayson could be feasible, but only as Nightwing, not Robin. Grayson as Robin would throw a wrench in the attitude of universe whereas his Nightwing persona seems a little more serious.

there will NOT be a robin. nolan has stated that following his timeline, robin is not even born yet. and i dont get the outcry about bat villains not being "realistic." they are his villains. nolan can work them into being "realistic." i dont get why people want the riddler to be just like the joker
