Nice showing your stalker behavior douche. And the topic of this thread was BUDGET.
Edited as the cursing was not warranted.
Everything I said in those posts was ON TOPIC and several of them were in the same thread.

I am just sick of all the ridiculous over hype by certain people on this board that have not even seen the damn film. They get mad at the haters who did not like the trailer then they go on to over hype this movie as the reinvention of cinema.
Well Mr. Beaks on AICN has seen the film and he states it is not the reinvention of cinema.
I will wait until I see it to make judgments on the actual film. Not stuff hyperbole down everyone's throats like certain people have been doing on here for the last month.
Oh, I agree. I hate those people that make sweeping judgement calls based on a trailer/material for good or ill.
I wasn't at all hyped up about the movie...but I broke down to get a ticket last week when I finally got around to seeing 2012.

I am a frequent poster here. I remember you making lots of threads about it.
Those links didn't come from a notepad file, but rather a search function with your username and the keyword "million".
Yeah, they should def switch set off stalker alarms every time that built in search feature is used. Especially when used to prove a point that the "victim" doesn't like.

That is the ballpark where I think the break even will be as well.
But that is public numbers. I don't think that is the break even point, just what they will say so they can say it was "successful."
Most actual estimates are saying this thing cost upwards of a half a billion dollars in full. It may have cost that, it may not. It may make that back, it may not. We won't know.
Edit original post as well.
Overall, I think this film may break even, but I doubt it will be profitable on a large scale. Of course ticket sales and a fluctuating estimated film cost will allow them to say "successful."
That is my point, but we will never know one way or the other.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night. That is stalker behavior. And not even good to prove your point as more than half of those were from 1 thread and pretty much all of them were on topic.
And what the hell is wrong with mentioning the budget for the most expensive film ever made?

Of those six examples, only 2 came from the same thread. Not several. And it was only brought up to show how you felt you needed to bring up the budget twice in the same one page thread in spite of no one bringing up anything in response to the budget.
Screamed vendetta to me, so it made a mental note.

One thread was discussing projected revenue so discussing revenue vs. budget would be warranted.
This thread was discussing the budget.
In every single post you listed, mentioning the budget was germane to my point and the topic.
Once again, this is the most expensive film ever but many people's estimates. what the heck is wrong mentioning the budget in any discussion of the film?

I am not the one here flipping my shite overreacting in posts and then going back and editing them because you realized your knee jerk response was an overreation.

Meantioning? Nothing.
You hammer the point.

That is my point. You brought it up at every possible opportunity, even when it wasn't directly relevant. God, this is no big deal. I just brought it up mostly so you can know you are coming across as a little more than overzealous.
And I won't lie some of cause of my "attack" comes from the Poliboard post of you coming in with the results of a 10 minute search from Google and just assuming that was correct....and then disappears.

In that they were all about Avatar. Yes.
Specifically? No.
What does the budget have to do with Avatar winning an Oscar? What about just being a good film to watch?
Oh, you throw in some transition. But you still steer the thread more towards financial waters.
In anycase, this is pointless and I've already wasted enough time on this.
out.

That once again proves what a stalker you are being.
what a freaking douche you are. I mentioned IN that post that I had just done a quick search. I IMMEDIATELY changed the numbers on APPLE.
Microsoft spends anywhere from 5 to 8 billion per year on research so my point was valid that some tech companies spend as much money on research as big pharma.
I now wish I had not changed my above post. You are an a-hole.
You come over to the freaking Movie board and start stalking someone. Nice job.

I would just like to intercede and mention that no Thunderdomes™ are to occur without proper committee approval.
In addition, all flame wars in the month of December must be tag-team events. Thank you for your cooperation.
This movie's budget is way too high!1

It's interesting that movie buffs had this same exact discussion before Titanic was released.
We all know what a flop that was.

Titantic is the exception, not the rule.
It relied on 13 year-old girls (which was a pretty good bet, the "garmlich" effect I think it was haha) and a historical event.
Avatar is relying on tech to make money essentially.

For about 6 months yes. But he writes them all now...FWIW

There is debate among the reviewer community, of which I know a couple of prominent folks, whether he actually switched back. One says not a chance, the other says he writes an outline and has someone clean it up into an essay.
He just isn't the beacon of criticism that he used to be. The other suspicion is that no "big" film has been handed less than 3 stars by Ebert recently. Odd considering his early history (by the 1990's he was already a mediocre voice).

I had noticed that he became far less critical of most films, but I thought that occurred years ago when he started getting laid when he got married.
Stephen King thought so too.
In August 2004 Stephen King, criticizing what he saw as a growing trend of leniency towards films by critics, included Ebert among a number of "formerly reliable critics who seem to have gone remarkably soft – not to say softhearted and sometimes softheaded – in their old age."

It was probably some of that and some of stardom. By the mid-1990's, Ebert was huge but his reviews began to skew more positive.

Well said by King.
