I figured after the Lucas abomination with Ewoks, no director would ever again have some cute uncivilized aliens win against a superior Empire.
I don't see the cuteness in these things. I think they are supposed to be 12 feet tall to where they would have a much better chance of destroying an empire than 3 foot teddy bears.

My point being a bow an arrow society vs. mech warriors. It was silly with Empire and it appears silly in the trailers.
Now, if this is a dark arse film with the blue people losing and dying along side humans that decide to join their cause, then maybe it might be something worth seeing.
I;m just basing this opinion on the trailers so far. If the movie turns out to be great, I won't have a problem coming on here and saying I was dead wrong.

You want to say they are equals in influence; ok, but comparing directorial talent is laughable.
You might want to stop laughing long enough to read. Where exactly in my post did I say anything about directing?
Just made the point that a man considered to be brilliant by many, failed miserably with the prequels and Indy Meets ET. It can happen.
The majority of people have been underwhelmed by the trailers which as I said if you can't cut a good trailer from a freaking 400 million dollar movie, then maybe things aren't so rosy in Cameron Land.

I would think the complete lack of directing record would indicate those labeling lucas a genius were the ones in need of a head examination. One only needs a voice; not artistic talent to be influential.
However, I can't seem to find the post where I said this movie was a homerun. I do remember saying that the track record grants a personal viewing. (As did the new star wars for that matter. Even though they sucked, I saw them. And since you brought them up, I am guessing you did as well. Which puts you in the same boat as me in regards to my original post. Perhaps you are the one who could use some help with the reading comprehension.)

You continue to struggle with simple comprehension.
I did not quote your post at all. I just pointed out that people with solid track records have failed in the past. Never mentioned anything about you saying it was a "homerun."
You also might want to brush up on comprehension which evidently is diminished by all that laughing since I have stated that I will still see the movie. I have stated that in several Avatar posts that I still plan on seeing it bad trailer and all.
Once again, I hope he proves me wrong. I will be on here issuing a mea culpa as soon as I have seen the movie. It would be nice to be surprised by a good movie.

I'm going to have to go ahead and wrap this up as nothing new has come to light outside of some high minded personal attacks. You agree you will see the movie, as I stated I would in my original post. You also seem to miss the part where in my original post i said the trailer was suspect; as you continue to bring this up. You see any real point of contention?

No there never was any other than me saying that even the mighty can fall. It is easy to make Lucas a punching bag now (albeit a very rich one) but I doubt at the time, anyone thought the prequels would be half as bad as they turned out to be.
I simply made the point that the mighty can fail.
Really wasn't a need to get into debate over that issue. You keep quoting me as saying things I did not say.

It's a very unique idea.
How is a re-make a unique idea?

And I hate the way you know exactly what will happen in the entire movie. Even if I did want to see this movie,(and I don't) the stupid trailer gives away the entire freakin' movie!
