I thought the 1st one was the best. The second and third have been disappointing.

They should have named it something else for it to work.

IDK anyone who has CBS All Access and from what I gather Peele just rearranged the Rod Sterling episodes with his own twist

They are far more political than I thought they would be but the stories and the production are pretty well done.

Still disappointing that no writer can focus on a plot or a subplot without just bashing you in the face with an agenda. I don't really care what the agenda is or which side of it I'm on its just getting old.

I have CBS All Access when Star Trek Discovery is airing and will have it for the new Picard series which is supposed to release at the end of the year.

Outside of the third episode, I still don't understand this complaint.

This was also an explicit component of the original twilight zone. Episodes have widely been dubbed morality plays. Only the third episode has expanded the morality outside of the protagonist.

Also, I'm worried that we are often misusing agenda (as I can't find a way to connect all 3 episodes to any one political or social spectrum), when we should be talking about theme. Many grade school teachers still use lesson and moral as synonyms for theme. Authors have included these since Gilgamesh. You're going to be tired of stories for a long time.

The first episode made fun of SJW's and the second had no political agenda whatsoever. Haven't gotten to the third yet.

The third isn't actually political, but it utilizes a recently politicized issue to tell its story. So all the dudes here who couldn't get past Kumail's bombing left wing jokes in e1 are going to hate this one.

Many of the original episodes had an "agenda" as well. A lot of them focused on racism, civil rights and social issues of the time. It wasn't as blatant (a lot of the plots involved "aliens"), but it was definitely there.

Well that is kind of my point. I absolutely do not mind subtext in either direction and I understand/agree that the original series had an agenda.

I am just saying that as far as delivery that the original was better at using subtle underlying themes and so far the new one is not.

The OG often forayed into politics but never took a left or right side, but focused instead on good versus evil, tyranny versus freedom (though it was vehemently anti-communist). That could have been censorship of the day.

It wasn't enough to make me swear off of the series I just hope that they give the audience more credit moving forward.

Loved the second one. I thought the comedy one was good. But could have been shorter. I'm still deciding on how I feel about episode three.

Tomorrow's episode looks right up my alley.

Absolutely. The speech at the end of e3 explicitly stated everything they got me to feel throughout the episode. It was totally unnecessary.

Just got through the fourth episode. We’re canceling the CBS service until the next Star Trek series starts. T Zone is too drawn out. They need to do like they did in the 80’s and feature two or three stories per hour.
