It was about Jack Ripper. What did you think of it?

It's on my DVR but haven't watched yet. It looked interesting from the previews but maybe a little too similar to Copper.

It's amazing how he fools Mr Roper into thinking he's gay so he can live with two hot chicks.

I liked it, not as good as Copper ,not even close. Star kinda bland, that Sgt. came from Game of Thrones, like him. He was the fighter in the boxing scenes. Good show. It replays often, I rewatched it at 11:00 and understood more of the British mumbling. Don't expect a copy of Copper,it's not.

Ripper Street is not about Jack the Ripper, but focuses on that time period. It's like the book The Alienist has come to life. I've watched the first 3 episodes and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Yeah the first episode is about Jack the Ripper but the preview for the 2nd episode has nothing to do with Jack the Ripper.

It has many similarities to Copper, as someone mentioned, just not nearly as violent. The lead actor in this show is pretty good, he's the main guy from MI-5 back in the day.

I have it on my DVR to watch. I knew it was the guy from MI5 so I thought I would give it a try. I liked Copper--when is it coming back on?

This one's actually more of a period procedural with the characters slowly unfolding whereas Copper is more solely about the characters' lives and life in that time.

This.
And I liked it alot.

I am a sucker for BBC crime shows. And MI-5 was one of my favorites shows, glad to see Matthew Macfayden working again.

I haven't seen it but hopefully it's better than Copper. I've read that it's really going to focus on the detective techniques of the time .. the new procedures for collecting evidence, finding criminals, etc. Like a CSI from the 20th century.

Yeah, they showed the young cop working the teletype machine like it was some lazer based DNA equipment or computer. And the older cops were all in awe.
