Any talk of awards for Sean Patrick Flanery’s performance in Nefarious?

I’ve watched reviews and interviews and the consensus of those who’ve seen it is he’s knocked it out of the park.
I saw the film and Flanery was chilling without needing benefits of effects or gimmicks to convey evil as tangible, personal, and powerful.

It's very early, but actors are rarely recognized for performances in horror movies. And when they are, the horror movie that features the performance needs to be a cultural phenomenon.

Makes sense. Very few will see his performance I’m thinking.

Definitely an award worthy performance, no doubt. He was phenomenal! But there’s no chance he’ll get a nomination.
One reason is the low viewership, but the main reason is that the Hollywood crowd has already labeled this film as “far right”.

“Nefarious” has been inaccurately described as a horror movie. It’s a poorly made psychological drama about a death row inmate, with no real scares and too much over-acting. As this dull movie drones on, it becomes preachy propaganda for right-wing beliefs. “Nefarious” has no nuance and leaves no room for tolerance of other points of view, because this rigidly judgmental tripe is just one big toxic lecture saying that anyone who doesn’t have a conservative mindset needs to be condemned.

I saw this film yesterday at my wife’s request; she’s a fan of writer Steve Deace and Glenn Beck’s Blaze crew.
I went in expecting it to be bad, but was surprisingly blown away by Flanery’s performance. He made me feel all the feels in those 90 minutes. The cheeseburger scene at the end left me gutted.
See this film if you get the chance; it’s wildly effective.

It’s almost axiomatic that films “like this”,(“like this” presumably meaning films with an unambiguous point of view respecting right/wrong/good/evil) having a message opposing the prevailing Hollywood Zeitgeist will be dismissed, without a smidgen of irony, as lacking “nuance” and for being preachy and intolerant.
What is disturbing to the film’s amoral critics are its unambiguous position on the sanctity of life from the womb to the final moments preceding physical death. Nefarious exalts in the tearing apart of an unborn child with an almost erotic satisfaction and explains in clear terms the ancient and unbroken link between child sacrifice to Molech and today’s abortion abattoirs.
It’s little wonder why Nefarious is facing strong headwinds.

Saw this is made by the people that made the God's Not Dead movies. 100% chance it's dogshit.
Christian movie pretending to be horror so they can lure people into watching. Cringe

An informed open-minded critique. Bold. Brave.
See it and then comment, maybe?

I read a synopsis, I'm good.
May have a great performance or two like you said, but I'm not watching

Do you feel better now that you let everyone know you won’t be watching it? Honestly this was the inside info we were all waiting on. Thank God you delivered.
