I'd take Demetrius, Harry Potter and Ragu out.

Replace with Ashley Hess, deep voiced girl and Riley.

I'd agree with that other than keep Riley out and Demetrius in. Ashley will be missed.

I said earlier that Uche was very talented but he will overdo it and turn off the voters. That performance was so cringeworthy bad I couldn't even believe it.

Not at all surprised he needed the judges to save him.

He will be out soon enough.

To me the big contenders are Alejandro, Jeremiah, Laci Kae and a dark horse is Madison. She has that classic Idol voice that female top 2s have had.

I guess throw Lane in because he'll get the teeny bopper and some Nashville votes but I still don't get his appeal at all.

How staged was his "girlfriend" audition to get him his ticket that he supposedly didnt want lol?? Haven't seen her around in a minute

That legitimately wasn’t a girlfriend set up. I know both of them (known her since she was born) and what went down with that audition.

Laine is a family friend who agreed to go play guitar for her, she had already made that audition.

Now the producers knew Laine was there before he walked in (that’s pretty obvious just by watching it) so they staged something in the background, but Ashton was unaware.

His reaction when he made it through and Ashton didn't made me dislike him. He was not very gracious, considering he only went to 'support her' at the start.

Cool info, thanks for sharing

What is their situation now? Just curious because she hasn’t gone to see him at any of the later performances and he hasn’t been asked about her or mentioned her.

With the way they beat these storylines to death, that just strikes me as odd.

Speaking of, Jeremiah’s family seemed pretty damn happy with him in the footage they showed from his sisters wedding.

I’m sure coming out has been bumpy for them but I suspected all along that was being played up as way more than it actually was.

He’s my favorite behind Alejandro and even I was tired of hearing about it.

I’ve felt that way about him since last year. They made him out to be this shy kid and he was a complete dick to the band last year.

Then pouted and looked pissy when he didn’t make it.

Then this year in the same faceoff scenario he didn’t even pretend to care that the other LA boy was in his exact same spot. He could have said I was in your shoes last year just keep at it and it will pay off but just smiled and said man that’s rough.

And tried to pretend like he wasn’t interested in going to Hollywood yet immediately has this whole Elvis/Buddy Holly suit look and angle ready for the stage.

He has clearly had a team that has been planning this all along.

I just find him completely insincere and just not all that talented or fun to watch.

But that’s just me, I know he’ll probably go top 5 with the teen/country vote.

They’re still good friends and cheer each other on. They were never in a relationship. That was an angle implied by American Idol and tossed aside.

Laine really is a good guy, he’s always been nice to me. Used to go to our church and I see him occasionally in the gym (that’s how I figured out he made it last year). I asked him “dude, what the heck are you doing in here?” He shrugged and was like “trying get in shape”. That’s when I knew.

I think the reason he seems insincere is the Elvis narrative isn’t him. It never has been. That’s been pushed on him for years. The dude’s just a southern rocker at heart. It seems like he is being molded into something else.

Give the guy a chance. He’s just a kid really. Imagine how we’d respond in that situation.

Still think it would be great if his parents actually show up live, Ryan calls his father up on the stage, so Preacher Dad can give him his broom back. Then, stand there like he'd just done a good deed.

That would be gold.

I guess I should cut him some slack considering he's only 18.

One thing about the elimination show I didn't like is how the judges had to give these 'oh my God I can't believe it' reactions to every singer who wasn't in America's top 7. Was really insencere considering they weren't going to save them all anyway.

I could do without them having to 'sing for their life' either. Those performances are never very good. The emotions just aren't right.

That makes a lot of sense, and I could definitely tell it looks like there has been a team getting him ready for this.

I’d much rather see him in his hat and jeans just playing songs he enjoys playing. I think he would come across better.

Sorry if I came across as too hard on him.

I definitely realize he’s just a kid. I’m more analyzing the “character” AI is trying to present him as, not necessarily who he is as a person.

That’s actually my favorite part of Idol, the fact that we really do get to know a bit about these artists and how much it means to them.

So when a contestant seems like they may not be being themselves I tend to enjoy watching them less
