Finally got to watch it on Prime.
As a long-time recuitnik, and having known of HS basketball guru/scout, Sonny Vaccaro, seemingly for forever, who had countless bluechips participate in his Dapper Dan Roundball Classic, I never knew until now how influential Sonny was in the shoe wars/shoe industry. I always thought thought he was just a successful AAU-type organizer who made an exclusive deal with Nike to fund his tournaments. I didn't even know Sonny worked for Nike, much less helped revolutionize the shoe industry.
But Sonny looked nothing like Matt Damon. Closer to someone like say, former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkington, but I don't know the actor-equivalent.

Telly Savalas, RIP, would have been a fine Tark IMO

While the songs themselves on the soundtrack were really solid, the way they were used in the movie was too much for me. You don't need a catchy 80's song to start every single scene. Sometimes a simple score or no music at all will do just fine.

I agree with this 100%. It was WAY too much of a crutch, but it didn't take away from it for me, it was just unnecessary.
I felt the same way the first time I watched The Big Chill.

Hahahaha I thought the exact same thing while watching. It was a little overkill

I also noticed half the songs lyrics were unnecessary & too-on-the-nose to "say" what the scene was already conveying without it.
Example: while anxiously waiting for the Jordan family to pick Nike or not, Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" is practically narrating the waiting-around montage: "Lying in my bed, I hear the clock tick and I think of you..." Another one used during the recruitment phase was "All I need is a miracle, All I need is you..." There were a lot more.

Another great one in the books for Affleck. I loved it.
The Town, Argo, and Air could not be more different but he's nailed all 3 of them.
