I can't help you if you cant see the various threads where I had legitimate discussion about some of the reasons everyone hates it, and neutralizing most of the arguments comparing them to OT, just like my last post.

The same thing could be said for Snoke, which is another big reasons the movie is getting shite on for not being developed. Side character, sith, only purpose was to make the path to Ren the antagonist, which is all that matters to this trilogy, and he did. BUT OMG NO WE NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT SNOKES BG. WHY IS HE EVIL
Don't even get me started on Palpatine, who wasn't developed either until 20 years later.
When the OT came out there was not an already established massive universe that it was continuing. Those questions didn't exist because they didn't need to.
There is now. And in that universe there is a rule of two Sith and a very clear necessity to be trained in the ways of the force and the dark side, and 30 years ago both of those Sith died along with every Jedi not named Luke Skywalker. Every Sith and every Jedi was dead. All of them. And The Force Awakens confirms that in that span the Jedi and Sith are basically relegated to myths that don't exist anymore. So the question who the frick is Snoke, how is he more powerful than any Sith we've ever seen, how has he been alive and operating since the time line of the OT, how did he operate under Luke's nose, and where did he come from are very valid questions.
Luke is supposed to basically be the last person alive who understands the Sith and the Jedi and the force. But somehow this Snoke guy is still here and knows the entire past of the Jedi and the Skywalkers and the Sith and is a super powerful dark force user? It's shitty writing.
You can't understand that difference?

Once again resorting to juvenile name calling. Keep up the good fight. At least it wasnt as bad as your last few posts telling me to jam your cock down my throat, because that screams intelligence.

then expanded upon in Video Games and Books
Take that out of the equation and then judge the character based on his development within Episodes 4-6. There is no reason Fett should be celebrated while other characters in the last 2 movies are criticized for lack of develpoment or their arcs going nowhere.

You don't make the rules. Just because there is established lore they owe it to you now to expand on things that might not matter whatsoever in the grand scheme of things? Snoke was a sith. WHO CARES WHERE HE CAME FROM. Maybe Vader's DNA was frozen. It doesn't matter in this story arc.

Jesus Christ.
You're upset that you got downvoted and shouted down when you tried to defend the movie in a TLJ criticism thread.
I don't even know what to say to that. Good luck on your quest.

That was on purpose because that guy's comment was directed at me from another thread.

It's pure hypocrisy.
Breesus is spot on above.
The Emperor is acceptable because he's a part of creating the rules that the Universe is built off of. Plenty of big bads come from nowhere in a variety of different films, books, etc. We make certain assumptions.
But based on those rules, Snoke shouldn't exist as a "big bad Force user that comes from nowhere." Now, if he were something completely different, maybe not even a force user at all. Maybe he has some other relationship to the force, then that's fine, then this would be fine.
But his SIMPLE existence (read: no background, info, clarity) is illogical based on 1) The rules of the universe and the force 2) The way the story wants to be done with the force "as was"

I'm just trying to figure out how everyone convinced themselves that we hear nothing more about Snoke. Or how Luke is the last person alive "who understands he Sith and the Jedi and the force". Is the story done? Did this trilogy complete?
And yes, of course NOW we know more about Palatine and Fett due to the EU, what, 35 years later? Were people losing their shite in 1982 like they are now? If absolutely no more Star Wars movies were being made, I might agree with your point.

This is not why I'm upset, it's just ridiculous and should be discussed. People can't help themselves constantly bashing people and posts that like this movie. It's embarrassing. These are grown assed men.

The last thing the board needs is another SW thread. I've seen enough personal insults from grown men over a fricking sci-fi movie to know how that thread would end. And the funny thing is, TLJ wouldn't even be in my own personal top 5 SW movies. It wasn't that great of a movie. But God forbid, I say one positive thing about the film and not bombard every guy with a different opinion on how he's a dumbass, his opinion is shite, he's probably autistic, etc.

I disagree. We have to assume there has been decades between RoTJ and TLJ/TFA. You don't have to explain everything. Snoke exists, that's all that matters. "The rules of the universe" don't exist.

the last jedi is a bad movie structurally, but conceptually it's a huge lie
nothing happens. NOTHING HAPPENS (I can't stress that enough) and yet they try to trick you into thinking so much happened.
recycled everything while claiming it's inventive and new
re-establishes tropes it is breaking the 4th wall to tell you they're tearing down

Are you serious? You're ok with someone making the 2nd movie in a trilogy which is the 8th movie in a series and simply ignoring everything established in all of the past movies without explanation and none of the fans have a right to be upset about that or even question it?
If that's your position then you're not worth talking to.

And people wouldn't celebrate him nearly as much without that stuff. His popularity is merely a a perfect storm of initial mystery and subsequent expansion and explanation of that mystery.
Fett became the perfect kind of vessel in this kind of Pop Culture universe building experience. That's why Fett was so popular. When Extended Universe stuff started to be written, you had limitations with how you wrote Anakin, Obi Wan, or Luke. Not so much with Fett, you could do whatever you wanted, therefore he was a blank canvas for people to really explore Star Wars.

Nevermind. There's no point. If you haven't figured out why you're getting shouted down and downvoted, there's no use in continuing.
I feel sorry for your plight. Best of luck in the future convincing people that it doesn't suck.
