So when does Arya's direwolf come into play? They keep bring it up and it's nagging at me.

Just finished this. I read the afterword about how he wanted to finish the next book in year. 6 years with chapters and chapters supposedly written?!

I believe he came to regret writing that afterword afterwards.

I would bet. I hope HBO will keep some pressure on him to get WoW done or else they will only have 3 seasons.

They are set for quite a while.
I wouldn't be surprised if next season is the last season where an entire book is covered in one go.

They have already announced Book 3 will be a two season one.

Did you just respond to yourself with an answer to next season being the last that's 1 book per season?
As for the "one year" thing, I think it was said that when he went back and looked at the material he had left after FfC, he didn't like the way it was put together and pretty much scrapped the whole thing.

I was under the impression season 2 was book 2 and 3. If he gets to writing this could go for at least 4 seasons imo. I think those fat HBO paychecks may persuade him.

One does not simply respond to oneself in a GoT thread without being called out on it.

It was meant to be an edited addition, but I accidentally clicked post reply, and just said frickit and went with it.

Nah....just book 2.
Jesus I can't imagine doing both clash of kings and storm of swords in 10 hours of TV.

I thought RW was going to be included in next season?

Negative Ghostrider.
That will be the end/cliffhanger of Season 3.

I didn't even know that they signed it up for a 3rd season. That explains a lot for me.

One does not simply stop posting "One does does simply ..." comments.

HBO has said that they are happy with the response, and they will continue the series for as long as there are books to make it from.
I know, I know, load of weight that will have if the ratings tank, but it is something. And they ARE planning that far ahead.

Definitely not. Too far away. Hopefully episode 9 of 10 (or 11 of 12) in season 3.
I assume they'll continue to mix a bit, like how some parts of book 2 were in the end of book 1
