Plenty of doctors, and certainly most surgeons, are very high IQ people and are extremely focused on their craft. This doesn't mean they have an all encompassing knowledge of all things. Dr Pou is obviously wrong in her assessment of military rotary wing flight capabilities.
But she's not a military or commercial helicopter pilot, she's a head and neck surgeon. I can will her a pass, even though she mentioned helicopters can't fly at night, at least a couple of times at fundraising events long after Katrina.
