Are you familiar with Wire's more recent music? If so, how is it?
I am a big fan of their early stuff (Pink Flag, Chairs Missing), but that is really all the Wire I've heard.

I didn't know Wire had new albums. Those guys have always been all over the place. No such thing as a typical Wire record.

It's not a new release, but one of my all-time favorite albums, The Dismemberment Plan's Emergency and I, was reissued on vinyl yesterday. If you missed it the first time, it is definitely worth checking out.
A warning though, if you are anything like me, you won't want to listen to anything else for at a month or two

I'm enjoying the new Decemberists. I think Rise to Me is one of the best songs they've ever written.

The new Bright Eyes is different. First listen I'm not too impressed but need to give it another chance.

New Cold War Kids cd is pretty awesome from what I've listened to so far. They didn't take as many risks on this album though.

Mrs. Baloo has gotten me into a local Dallas band, Seryn. Very Low Anthem-y. I dopn't like it as much as she does, but she's a bigger music nerd.
I also like the Head and the Heart's new one. Not groundbreaking, but it is solid fun.

Yeah I was pushing people to listen to that one a while back. Good stuff. Short cd, but I can listen to it all the way through (except for one song I think) and enjoy it all.
