As long as Cassard is the Coach they can forget about it,Unless Zachary wins a legal action allowing them to play. Also ,no matter what happens ,it wont change Cassard, atleast not for the better. Thats just my opinoin.

look at wafb for some coverage. Notice the students in the pictures. Word was there were over 100 students that either checked out, didn't show up at school, or were taken out by their parents to go to the protest. Is this classified as an excused abscence or not, The last time I checked the Dept of Education and most school systems didn't allow for students to skip school to protest a decision made by an authority having jurisdiction over them. So is Zachary now teaching this behavior to even the students, that they can miss school to go and fight against adults and their decisions because they don't agree with them. Will the school allow these same students to protest on their property against the administration or faculty when they don't get the grade they want in a class. The issue may be that Zachary schools never did anything to Cassard. He has not been punished in anyway for the actions of his team or himself. I can guarantee that the other schools did more then just suspend their players for one game, as well as, reprimand their coaches. Zachary doesn't care what behavior their coaches teach the players as long as they win. The parents don't care either for the most part.

check out the advocate: in a quote by a parent:

“What they’re doing to this team and this community is such an injustice,” Zachary parent Randall Von Rosenberg said earlier Friday. “What they’re doing is such an abuse of power on so many levels. You’ve got principals on that committee who are jealous of Zachary because it’s the best school district in the state, and we’re the No. 1 team (in the 5A baseball power ratings).

“Use some common sense … it the was bottom half of the first inning when (the fight) happened and we were in the field. Teurlings stormed the field, and we defended ourselves. If that hadn’t happened there wouldn’t have been a hearing. There’s been a lot of talk about trash-talking and such. They don’t have sportsmanship hearings for that, and it happens at every game.

“That shouldn’t be part of the issue here. I wish someone … like Governor (Bobby) Jindal … would intervene on our behalf.”

At the time of the appeal, Zachary Community Schools officials announced they would take no additional action. But parents and fans got involved, launching a Twitter campaign via WBRZ-TV.

Before the ruling to put the team back in the playoffs, Henderson said Zachary had no additional appeal options unless new evidence could be presented to the LHSAA executive committee.

“I felt like I had to ask the question to see if there was another option for an appeal,” Watts said. “I’m going to continue to try and find something we could use for an appeal.

“It’s a tough situation because I feel for our seniors. We have some very passionate parents, and I understand their point of view. What they don’t understand is that the LHSAA doesn’t operate like a court of law. The committee makes the best decisions they can based on the information that’s presented to them.”

So who is really in charge in Zachary,I would say parents/players with an Attorney on deck 1 and administration 0.

Zachary back in playoffs. So who has the "bigger stick"?????

Ummm...no Mr. VR...it doesn't. We've played 28 games this year and haven't seen anyone, other than the garbage from Zachary, act this way (and this includes Teurlings, whom we played).

It's a sad day for Louisiana HS Baseball but had a bad feeling about this when they let TC back in.

Stay classy Zachary......

So now people are worried about what type of absence the kids got? I commend the kids for going down there and asking for an explanation, instead of standing by and letting someone walk all over you. Maybe you teach your kids to be a pushover and to get walked on. Anybody with the common sense of a second grader could see that the ruling the LHSAA made to ban Zachary and allow Teurlings to play was wrong and unfair. People talk about how "classless" Zachary baseball is but can you find one incident before this one where they were in trouble with the LHSAA? I'll save you the time, you can't because this is their FIRST offense. Trash talking goes on in every sport at every game on every level, and to believe it doesn't happen or your kid doesn't do it, is being naive. Maybe the problem most people have is that Zachary baseball wins

Actually, I teach my kid to show respect and class to his opponents and other teams fans and coaches

They have had NUMEROUS complaints about behavior in the past 5-6 years.

Like I said.....we've played 28 games....and some were against teams as good or better than ZHS and we've only seen one other team that remotely acts like ZHS and that was Destrehan (and that was one player).

In 4A yes......haven't won it all in 5A. But we play plenty teams that HAVE won as much or more (Parkview, Jesuit, Rummel, West Monroe, etc) and never have we seen the crap that ZHS pulls.

I'd be willing to bet you haven't seen em play....and if you have, you obviously haven't seen em enough.

What are the 5 or 6 reports you speak of? Please tell me events so I can informed as much as you are. I've seen them play quite a bit over the last several years and I loved the attitude they brought to the field. I was at the game they played against live oak at Zachary and a live oak fan, not a Zachary fan, was ejected from the game. I was also at the Zachary vs Denham game at Denham when the Denham springs third baseman cursed his own teammate on the field during the game loud enough that I could hear it in the stands. So you're team has played Barbe several times this year becaise that is the only team that is "ranked" higher than Zachary, even though Barbe has lost to Zachary twice this year according to their schedules.

They had a player suspended a few weeks ago after a game with us due to "show-boating" and shooting a bow and arrow at our fanbase (after hitting a double)

Hazing at a non-school function with a few baseball players before the season started...

And from a very good source, countless emails from fans/coaches after certain games ZHS played against there teams.

Bottom line........ZHS doesn't need to act the way they do to win. It comes from the HC and should be an embarrassment to the school and community of Zachary.

And I frankly have no idea what this has to do with Zachary acting like a bunch of thugs and disrespecting the game of Baseball the way it does.

Too bad the people that make these decisions backed down and let em off the hook.....nothing will be learned from this.

So the HC disciplined a player for his actions and you critize him for no discipline?

.

I wouldn't know. I've only been to a handful of their games and have yet to see anything from Zachary that would justify an email.

I have seen them shoot the bows and arrows I didn't find that to be disrespectful but everyone has their opinion. I've seen other high schools do the same along with countless colleges.

I've was more upset at the actions of many other coaches I've witnessed this season than the games of Zachary I've seen.
I was not at the Walker/Zachary game but was told their parents were antagonizing Zachary players. Which isn't surprising because I have seen other parents do the same. I believe Zachary's style of play brings it on them. Much like Barbe, Byrd, and Lafayette's style.

none of what allegedly happened should have happened unless you have douchebag kids who happened to be roided up and easily provoked... what's so hard about shutting up and playing the game like jesuit does?

So now you are accusing high school players of taking steroids. That takes a "classy" person to do that. The last time I saw them play the whole team maybe averaged a height of 5'11" and average weight was 175lbs. As a team they've only hit TWO home runs. Last time I checked steroids made you bigger and stronger.

Well, since I AM a Walker parent and saw firsthand what took place.....that is nothing but garbage.

Between each player having there own walk bat-flip, the throat slashes after scoring runs, the bow and arrow shooting and staring down our coach on a hit batter.......it just goes on and on.

It's been going on for years and ZHS encourages it........mark my words, JC stays as coach and this issue WILL come up again in future years.

It's just too bad.

And......on a final note......what choice did Cassard have?? He had to act like it bothered him because he knew big brother was watching after the fight.....otherwise, he would NOT have taken this action.

We've played Lafayette and Byrd numerous times and haven't seen ANYthing like ZHS displays.....in fact, they'd be offended if they heard the comparison.

Bottom line, you...like all of the other Zachary apologists, think since they win and "everybody" else does it........makes it ok

I disagree and Zachary will have another incident at a field near you.....book it

AVERAGING 5'11" and 175 would probably make Zachary the biggest team i've seen in a couple years if i ever saw them play. we are talking about HS players here.

and they've hit TWO HRs? i call bull on that if you guys have one of the top teams in the state in 5A.

the simple fact is that three 5A teams shouldn't be in the playoffs bc they haven't acted sportsmanlike the entire season.

it's really a low standard. don't embarrass the state with a bench clearing brawl and Zachary couldn't even do that. you're lucky Kenny Henderson runs scared if you lawyer up
