Is he a $200 million guy if he stays healthy in 2017 and can replicate his 2016 season?

Also will the Rangers pay him the type of money he will command or let him walk?

He'll be 31 when he signs a new contract. I like him, but at that age and with the recent TJ operation I hope the Rangers let him sign elsewhere.

I don't think there is any chance we pay him what he wants if he is typical Darvish and stays healthy.

I do think he will get monster money if he stays healthy.

They won't have it. They still owe Fielder for another three years (though they will get some reimbursement from Detroit and insurance) and the same for Choo (but on him they owe the full $$$).

I believe the insurance is 50 percent of what he is owed.

We could do it, JD did a AMA on the subreddit the other day and I asked specifically about Darvish (3rd comment made on the thread) and he dodged the shite out of it.

It's been in the rumor mill here on the radio that it could be done with the $/year, but the years are where the difference is.

If anyone pays that for Yu Darvish, they will be making a huge mistake.

If giving Darvish 7/$210 ($30mil a year) somehow won me one World Series down here in Texas I wouldn't give a shite what happens down the line.

I believe $30mil/year is equal to Price and less than Greinke and Kershaw. I may could be mistaken.

Greinke had a higher AAV, but six years, not seven.

Correct and the Tigers pay another 25%. So 75% of Fielder's salary is covered by other sources.

He's already 31? Didn't seem that long ago where he was a hot new prospect.
