Redskins select Vita Vea DT Washington.
Nose tackle is by far the biggest need for the Redskins at the moment. The Redskins employ a typical 3-4 defensive scheme.
Vea is one the most impressive D-lineman to come out of college in the past five years. To be honest this was kind of a no-brainer

Vea won’t just be a good player for the team that drafts him, he is going to be a tone setter. I see Vea getting even better in the NFL if he gets paired with a defensive line coach who teaches him how to play with just a little more finesse than he did in college. I get why Vea leaned so heavily on his power, but sometimes you can make the same play without putting that kind of stress on your body. Besides that, the more Vea switches between power and finesse as a pass rusher, the more he will keep opposing offensive linemen honest. On the next level he is going to face more blockers who can actually withstand his power. And when he does, being able to switch to more finesse moves will keep those blockers from just bracing for his power rushes on ever play.

Packers select Tremaine Edmunds LB Virginia Tech Will do a write up later
Packers may have more of a need at the DB position but I couldn't bare passing on Edmunds. Edmunds is an absolute beast at the Middle Linebackers position. He is incredibly fast and strong and looked like man among boys in college. He does have a big weakness however, he has terrible instincts. But the good thing is that that is a teachable skill. He will 20 years old by the time he starts his pro-career so he is still a developing player but oh man does his college tape look impressive. He could be the next great middle backer in the right system with the right coaching staff.

No chance he falls that far IRL, but would be an insane get for the Packers to replace Clay Matthews.

Bucs should have drafted Daniel Carlson, gotta make this fun

If pick is not in has to be mike mcglitchey (ot) or Connor Williams (ot). Cards 8% sacks on passing attempts 28th in the league. Need oline help. I would think it would be mcglitchey as they are ok for guards. Pugh and iupati and Williams is projected as a guard in the nfl.
Irl I think they try and get a trade up for a qb. Maybe not. Idk who would sign Bradford at this point

With the 15th pick, the AZ Cardinals select Mike McGlinchey, tackle Notre Dame
The Cards recently signed Sam Bradford to a 1yr $10m deal with a team option yr2. protecting him will be a priority as they allowed 52 sacks t3 most in the NFL last season. The new coach is a defensive mind and will likely push for another defender, likely a corner; but the GM and personnel dept will guide this pick.
McGlichney has less concerns surrounding him than Orlando Brown at the moment and seems like a less risky pick. His combine measurables are fantastic, 6'8" 312lbs and should pair nicely with Mike Iupati and shore up the left side of the Cards line.

quote:
SOURCES TELL US "Notre Dame will even tell you that McGlinchey is better on the right side than the left side. He's just more comfortable and consistent there so that's probably where you play him. I think everyone tries to beat him up too much. He's going to play in our league and be a decent starter." - -AFC team personnel executive
NFL COMPARISON Jared Veldheer
BOTTOM LINE McGlinchey will need to add more strength and mass to his athletic frame in order to hold up against NFL power, but his technique and instincts are pro-ready. He could be a polarizing prospect based on inconsistencies from his tape, but he gets guys blocked at a much higher rate than he loses his rep. McGlinchey should become an early starter at either tackle position, but his ability to handle bull rushers and power at the point of attack will define the type of career he has.

With the 16th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select DJ Moore
I know Ozzy is obsessed with Alabama players but for the sake of this mock we're taking the best pure WR. DJ's breakout age is 18.4. The Ravens could use a Tackle and ILB also and Mason Rudolph was even considered here because well Flacco isn't Elite. Moore can come in and pay outside and in the slot. His NFL comparison is Pierre Garcon. He'll be a teams fringe WR1/Steady WR2 and is ready to come in immediately and make an impact.

great pick.
the ravens were 32nd in yards per pass. i think a rush de or linebacker is possible (davenport UTSA), but would be a luxury pick; not a need.

1. MAURICE HURST, MICHIGAN The prototypical 3-technique defensive tackle, Hurst offers a pass-rushing toolbox that no other interior player in this class can come close to matching.
