Yea but on par with the league that crumbled 6 weeks or so in.

Let's see if they can keep it up; I thought the product on the field was ok; not great but absolutely the guys who are right on the verge of being on NFL rosters

Cant wait to see a packed house for the Battlehawks home opener in 2 weeks. if we beat Houston next week I think theres a good chance that attendance is closer to 40k

If they beat Houston I may have to get tickets and fly in for the game.

You think this has to do with the teams being in Larger markets? Compared to the AAF which were all small ones?

Yes.

Also note that these teams are in big markets who also currently having disappointing NFL teams. Gotta think this was on purpose

Lol it wasn't on Purpose that they chose "disappointing NFL teams"
I mean as seen from the Guardians game this weekend, that stadium was EMPTY.

they chose big markets because theres more of a likelihood to get the corporate dollars.
Yea it's a reach to say a corporation is gonna throw money at this league, but it sure as hell is a lot more likelier they do it at team based in NY or Seattle than Birmingham or Orlando.

Im not saying it was completely on purpose, but I would bet when deciding cities, they thought about the current status of each cities NFL team.

Example, fans of DC area would buy into an XFL team better than lets say Boston, or San Fran.

I mean yea that’s fair but that’s probabl the only city you could say this for among XFL cities with NFL teams i feel.

One example being NY; sure the Jets always suck but the Giants will probably win a SB in the next 5-6 years. Also fan support is still very large there for both teams (check the attendance from this year)

DC has an NFL team?

I kid, I kid.

It’s easy to forget about them, only 5 playoff appearances since 1992, and have only won their division twice since then. Hard to believe this was the same team Theisman, Riggins, and Gibbs were involved with.

NYC has a ton of transplants and just a ridiculous population.

I also exclude the Texas teams from this since Texas is a football state through and through. I mean, you know damn well St Louis was only picked strictly because of our dislike towards the NFL. Like us, DC may(idk) be upset with how their franchise is being ran.

So you’re saying VM/XFL are trying to compete with the NFL then?
Isn’t VM buddies with Kraft? If that’s the case probably why he never thought of having a team in Boston.

Basically this really only works for Tampa St Louis and DC.
Tampa didn’t have fans in the first place
STL doesn’t have a team
DC is losing fans due to Snyder

I want it to succeed. A league that isn't in direct competition with the NFL with guys we all know from our schools is great.

Just hard to know after week 1 how viable it is long term

Not so much compete as seize an opportunity to grow a brand.

No clue, probably. Trumps friends with Vince and Kraft so maybe.
