Lol.

Raiders take the top RB and top safety, both major needs. Okay.

The safety was a good pick, but Jacobs could have been gotten in the second or third. I watched him at Bama his whole career, dude isn't a 1st round pick imo.

That is not what scouts say though, most had him mid 20's range. I don't get why people say this unless they just don't like him or something because NFL circles rave about him. ESPN had him the 23rd ranked player in the draft, and he got picked at 24.

There is no reason to draft a back in the first round anymore, and Abrahams isnt a first round draft pick

I disagree with that, Pats took an RB first round last year. Late first is still plenty fine to take a RB if it's a big need or even your top need. Take the #1 RB on everyone's list.

Look, I'm not dumping on the guy, but I don't think he's a No. 1 pick, and I don't care what the scouts say because they're wrong, a lot. As I said I watched him at Bama and he was alright, but nothing really spectacular like when Ingram and the big boy, what's his name, were there. Jacobs ran in a group at Bama and was just an okay RB that got good yardage sometimes, but you have to remember he's running behind Alabama's OLine to. In important games he was shut down, but with Oakland he'll do okay I guess, but he won't be no top NFL back.

I'm just not a fan of taking a RB in the first round. You can get good production in later rounds. The Safety is really the only pick I'm happy with right now. I hope they prove me wrong.

I'm not really talking about whether you like him or not though, everyone has an opinion.

Just saying that isn't the case within the NFL which is what matters here when it comes to draft position. NFL GM's, scouts, etc really really like him and that is why he was 1st round pick by most people.

If you disagree that's fine. Can't wait until 3rd round for a guy going 1st. Big gamble to try and wait to 35.

I'd like to throw in the Iowa tight ends as a consideration, neither are overly impressive

yeah, these days you can get quality RB's from all over, small schools and signing them as FA's. No need to take a RB in the 1st anymore unles they're a monster like Barkley or Fournette, and Jacksonville is kicking themselves right now for taking Fournette in the 1st who's been acting like a diva since he's been there.

If the Raiders hadn't taken him in the 1st, no one else would have, I believe that. But you can believe what you wanna believe.

I agree with the ESPN ranking of him 23rd myself. Just based on what I've been able to confirm through the inside guys. Love the pick.
