Let There Be Surf.

On August 9, live competitive surfing is back again. Believe it. In a one-day, winner-take-all showdown at the Surf Ranch, eight teams of the world’s best surfers will enter and only one will rise from the dust victorious. There will be airs. There will be long, perfect barrels. There will be a live surf contest happening right before your eyes for the first time in months.

Filipe Toledo, Caroline Marks, Kolohe Andino, and Sage Erickson are already confirmed. The final roster of challengers will be revealed over the next week. Clear your schedules. The Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold Rumble At The Ranch is coming.

Anyone who is looking to avoid the current sports drama and watch a real mans sport join me August 8

Good stuff I used to teach on Waikiki when I lived there
In front of the Duke Statue

The Kelly Slater Ranch wave is the greatest thing ever invented and is leading to massive wave pool construction

Palm Springs Surf club and the one in Waco Texas BSR or something

So you can rip in TX right now

That's sweet. I did a little when I was younger, but that adult life and living in Texas put a stop to that

Might have to take a drive down there at some point to check that out

Check out the wave. Full barrel fun

I have seen ppl long boarding it so any level can go for it
Texas will be a major spot for surf parks in the future and it will be the future of surfing

That looks awesome. I'll definitely have to check it out. Don't know how Waco got that, but it looks worth the trip

I thought they cancelled every event? Teahupo'o would have been in July. Why couldn't they get that event in again? The entire event is 1000s of feet from shore

Edit: I tried to get into BSR this past weekend for my birthday and it's completely filled up for months. Apparently it is extremely hard to get up during the public session because of the extreme chop. Who actually knows though. A private session would be a blast those waves look so smooth.

They did. This is just a special one day event winner take all. The 2024 Olympics in France is having the surfing at Teahupoo which will be interesting

The red bandit Cheyne Magnusson with Jamie OBrien I think for it going. Cheyenes dad owns Osiris skate shoes so they got money together. He moved on to Palm Springs surf club now. AZ is opening a yuge water park

This is what Palm Springs will look like

They were supposed to build one of these 15 mins from my house in palm beach county. I was very excited for consistent surf so close.

Then they didn’t

Last years Billabong Pro was insane it's the best stop along with Pipe. I know they changed the format in 2021 not sure how I feel about it.

I didn't know JOB had anything to do with the Waco park that's funny and Osiris is a name I haven't heard since I was a teenager lol there's some blonde Jackston that is ripping up the Waco park throwing insane airs for a teenager. I wonder if the kids growing up on these parks can translate it into a career in pro surfing. Probably not because the CT guys have insane knowledge of the breaks and wave selection but I'd guess they're going to have more of these comps in these parks. I'm sure they're thinking about doing a separate park league.

Yeah I was bummed they axed the project. Florida is ditching all wave pool projects. Lame

It's where they do all the aerial events or did
And Bomb drops lol

You should check JOBs youtube channel you get to see his chick ripping Palm Springs Surf club

Does she get psyched? Lol I follow his channel. I'll go check it out the Palm Springs pool looks really nice. The last one I saw he was surfing some river wave in the Midwest. That guy gets around.

So is this event going to be an open event? I couldn't imagine they require CT qualification from the 2019 season to fill the spots. I did notice that Kelly was added. They need more of these young guys like Felipe to make it a good air show. They have two from the top 5 already but I wonder if guys like John John who just came off an injury even care about this.

Yeah I think its winner takes all or it might be teams like they have done before

I'd like to see them do a contest with the Momentum Generation crew and add in Bruce Irons if it's just a one off

Get Machado on a paddle board lol I'm sure you grew up watching that whole crew. I remember those names from FuelTV days

The Hobgoods would another fun one although they did a celebrity heat last year in Tahiti. I'm still amazed that Slater has had the longevity he has. The Irons were in the CT like 15 years ago.
