so what happens when you get staked and don't cash? just some i.o.u.'s?

Great question.

One of the knowledgeable poker folk here knows better than me...TT22, PokerChamp, smoke?

You don't owe anything. You stake someone if you think they are a good enough player to bring you a return on your investment more than not. Such as if someone would stake me in some big tourneys I would make them rich by the end of 2010.

This is from some blog on espn.com sorry i dont have the link:

Unlike the predictions from media row of a quick exit during the next level, the short stacks battled and John Dolan stole the show. It was the level of Dolan's dreams as he went from 24 million in chips to 45 million, picking apart the opening raises of a number of players.

well deserved for a sicko player. he might be the odds on fav to take this thing down

I will be placing a wager on him to win

6. Would have put him at 3.4 mill, chip leader and he would have run over the table. He's not gonna get beat that late in a tournament with chips

Dolan has gone from 22 million to 45 million without a showdown.

Seen it quite a few times. He is absolutely a beast with chips. Why I said if he wins that BS hand against Montgomery that tournament is over. No huge coolers or shite outs at the FT and this tournament is over. Book it!

Thats what I figured. Speaking of poker tournaments I am playing a $1 micromania tourney on Pokerstars and am 23 in chips with 133 left. Tourney started with 4482.

Dolan is the only one who went really deep that I know personally. He and I have roomed together at a different circuit events/random tournaments and always hang out when we travel from A to B at different events. The rest of the guys I just know from playing with at different tournaments. A group of about 12 of Dolan and I's friends got a house in Vegas for the summer. I got a big boy job in march so hung up the poker. I decided to keep the sweat going by investing in one of the roomates in the house. While he did cash I obviously picked the wrong one :(

23rd in chips still. 63 left. 1st place prize is $850. Not bad for a $1 buy-in.
