The Saints beat themselves vs the niners. So basically Kaepernick has really only done enough to beat a Philly team that had long given up on there season.

Nah. No excuses from me. That niners d beat up the saints offense no doubt. Saying that, the qb didn't really look good or bad against the saints defense. The offense put up 17 points but the saints defense has been doing a little better than they were.
Anyway harbaugh put himself in a bad position if the qb play starts declining. I doubt he puts smith back in. Maybe he won't need to though.
