Of course a game on Ion is gonna get less views.
Ok so do ion vs ion games then
Posted on 6/12/25 at 7:01 pm to TackySweater
none of their games with CC were on Ion.. If we go back to last May
May 24 2024 – Indiana Fever @ Los Angeles Sparks (ION) 724,000
this year without CC
May 30 2025: 851,000 viewers (vs. Sun, Ion)
for NBA TV
May 28 2024 – Los Angeles Sparks @ Indiana Fever (NBA TV) 356,000
Without CC this year
May 28: 357,000 viewers (at Washington Mystics, NBA TV)

yeah i just posted the data. the 55% probably comes from comparing all games (regardless of Network) and not games in the middle of May at the beginning of the season. Misleading numbers.

They only had 1 game on Ion in May last year.

Ohhhhh so that’s what you’re going with?
“It’s the beginning of the season”
“It’s the beginning of the season”

That was definitely a while buncha people that tuned in thinking it was Clark vs Reese that didn’t know she was hurt lol
Seems like that would be in direct conflict with arguing ratings are down because she's hurt.

Think this through. I know you’ll understand it eventually.

the numbers are simlar/up compared to last year at the same time on the same networks
What's wrong with comparing May 28th vs May 28th on same network?
why would you wanna compare games being played at different times of year when they aren't going up against NBA playoffs and NHL playoffs unless you wanted to post a misleading stat?

I posted the numbers you asked for and they debunked the entire post. None of them were down 55%
Posted on 6/12/25 at 7:23 pm to Corinthians420
So Caitlin Clark being out isn’t making ratings drop?
Posted on 6/12/25 at 7:26 pm to TackySweater
I'm sure it is some. Not to the effect the OP stated though, that much is obvious. the NBA TV and Ion games got more viewers than Fever games on those networks the same week last year. The CBS game had a 13% drop.
The 55% number is comparing the season opener on ABC to a game on NBA TV.

Bottom line is the national viewers are down almost 50% however you want to excuse that. It’s all over the media by national outlets. I’m sure the wnba is just chalking it up to “ oh well beginning of the season”
It’s wild that people still won’t acknowledge that Clark is THE driving force behind this surge lol

So people made sure to tune out because Clark was hurt then forgot she was hurt for one game and tuned back in. Makes perfect sense.

Ah shite. You went backwards! I thought you were getting there lol
Maybe try again in the morning?

I don't know why you wanna compare apples to oranges.
The May/June Ion games didn't do 55% more viewers than the Ion game without CC just did.

Yea you’re right. It’s only a couple of us on this board that’s taken note of it. No big deal though “because it’s only the beginning of the season” lol
