Will ESPN3 ever be compatible on the IPad or IPhone?

Any of you tech sports fans know what the hold up is with ESPN why they don't have ESPN3 campatable for the iPad?

Don't they have a watch ESPN app, they probably want you to buy something.

Correct. I don't see why Comcast isn't on their list of providers.

This pisses me off so much. Hell I would get an iPad almost solely for ESPN3 (I travel a lot and it gives easy access to SEC games).

This is the only thing I don't like about my iPad.

Has nothing to do with the iPad or iPhone as the reason it's not compatible. (NOW you could argue that if apple ever allowed the support of flash, you would have access to the full site version and not have to rely on an app, but I digress)
ESPN obviously has the means to make it work if they wanted to (see the WatchESPN app), however they are obviously holding out until more ISP or cable providers ink deals for WatchESPN (i.e. like Verizon Fios and more) as opposed to just the ESPN3 that you know and love today.
So, if you truly wanted it, you'd just need to convince your cable provider to ink the deal with them...
Or you can always find an alternative like Orb, PlayOn, etc.

That's weird because I have Comcast back home and I was able to watch ESPN3.

It is surprising that it isn't compatible with IPad or Iphone. I have Time Warner and I can get it on my crappy HP Touchpad

ESPN3 is not the same as WATCH ESPN. WATCH ESPN has feature stuff that is unavailable on ESPN3.

What is the logic of letting your cable provider determine if your iPhone plays ESPN3?
Shouldn't this be an at&t/ESPN/apple discussion?
