Why No Full Helmets in W Lax?

Watching the Championship game and the thought crossed my mind. The hitting isn't as fierce as the Men's game, but that ball is still coming in pretty quick.
Also, every single Maryland goal results in the stick being thrown down. Very stupid.
ETA: the stick throwing is a rule for refs to check pocket depth.

They aren't supposed to hit like in men's, so only the goalie needs one. One state (I think FL) requires it for HS girls, but I think the lobbying for that came from the company that makes girls lax helmets ($ talks).
They have to drop the stick as soon as they score because the ref checks it to make sure it is legal. Girls sticks aren't allowed to have a deep pocket like the guys.

Women's Lax is the dumbest sport. You can get a flag for "intent to hit the goalie with a shot".
