why is it that anyone who wins a major is now the next best thing....

they were talking about this on sports radio up here in Boston. Be it McIlroy or now Bradley, whoever wins the most recent major is the next best thing since sliced bread. I swear they've already crowned Rory the next Jack and Bradley will go on to win multiple majors.
The PGA is screaming for some player with some personality and they don't have one. They have to resort to making kings out of paupers. Its ridiculous. They would do themselves a favor if they just focused on golf and less on who is the next great one.

I don't remember anybody ever saying Charl Schwartzel is the next big thing.
Its kind of different when a hyped player breaks through and when a nobody breaks through I guess. Rory has been hyped for a long time and broke through so its easy to crown him as the next big thing. Bradley has been tough this year at many tournaments.
But if Dufner won I doubt we'd be championing him as the next big thing.

Bradley is the real deal, imo. He's a Rook on the PGA Tour and has won twice and has 5 Top 10's. He also won the first Major he ever played in. He putts like a boss, and drives the hell out of the ball.
I've never said that about any of the last seven Major winners, In fact, I think McIIroy is very overrated.

i agree with the op. oosthuizen, mcdowell, charl and rory were all more impressive than bradley and look what they have done since. bradley is a good player but not great. let's not crown this guy yet.
