That 1989 season might’ve been the greatest total passing season in the history of football: dude completed 70% in the regular season and 78% in the playoffs Joe Cool straight wrecked shite that season was the definition of quarterback perfection and that entire team as a whole was so legendary they played as a cohesive unit and thoroughly eliminated basically all opposition culminated by their infliction of postseason death onto the Broncos in the Super Bowl. The perfect storm of greatness.

2009 brees was at 70% through the season and playoffs.

I agree. Players are far more athletically gifted nowadays.

Duly noted, was a special season for Drew in totality, thought his best postseason performance that season was the Cardinals game, great completion pct more efficient than he was in the Super Bowl and I get his Super Bowl completion percentage and all that but his Y/C was 9, even as a high schooler during that time I was underwhelmed by that stat I just prefer Joe's, the domination therefrom was exhilarating to not only read about but also marvel at in produced replays the piece de resistance of a quarterback's dominance over opposing defenses

Flaccos completion pct in games 1 and 2 were very shaky
He was just throwing up punts

Agreed. Crazy how great Montana was at throwing his slow, unathletic receivers open.

One of those slow, unathletic receivers: Jerry Rice the arguable GOAT football player
That setup was so rich bro

Arguably the GOAT WR is slow and unathletic.

Yeah but that's 2009...and not 1989.
Big difference.
One guy is forced to ride a wagon over rough terrain, the other guy gets a Ferrari on the superhighway.

LOL and TH was trashing my rebuttal to some dude trying to diminish Tom Brady with that "backup being 14-6 W-L record with the Pats" angle, apparently some TB12 detractors are active and operating in this medium

To what? My athletically gifted post was a joke...

Brady is a hack.

Peyton side of the aisle, right?

No, I just like making people mad.
