Eh, thats not how this usually works. Media wants a story. They want success, then a controversy that brings about a downfall, and end up with a huge redemption story.
They want attention, like most people. Follow the money. Attention = money.

Biggest difference is Sanders will have to prove himself. If a player sucks they wash out quickly.
This female ump can be absolutely terrible and her career will go on decades. Sports refs are the only job on the planet that consistently sucking at never has any consequences. They never get fired.
