Take QB's away from both and I think the Broncos could win their division easier than the Saints could in this situation.

We didn't just take Drew out of those games at the end of the year.

We have the better defense (now) and a head coach taht isn't suspended.

Saints could still win 8-9 games without Brees. Broncos would hold their own in a slightly weaker division, but would get maybe 7 wins.

Slight edge--SAINTS!

this looks like the start to a 'Brees should be MVP' thread

I'll go with Denver as the better team.

It's definitely an interesting question.

I think Denver is more talented in terms of the comprehensive roster set, but Payton is the much better coach.

I'd probably give the slight edge to Denver, just because they've gone .500 or better with three head coaches (counting Del Rio) and three different QBs over the last 5 years (Orton, Tebow, and Manning), while the Saints' QB depth behind Brees is nothing to write home about. I mean, they did go to the playoffs with Tim Tebow when he was quite possibly the worst QB in the league.

No disrespect to the rest of the Saints team, but Brees is so important to our offense, I do not even want to think of him not running it.

Saints without Brees would be orders of magnitude worse than Saints without Payton, and we saw how that turned out.

Also, Denver, IMHO, is in an easier division.

What's this based on?

Last years records point the opposite.

Tampa bay and Atlanta were terrible

Denver won the West with an 8-8 record and Tim...fricking...Tebow under center.

Atlanta was a few plays away from the Super Bowl in 2012.

So you are basing it off what happened years ago while ignoring the improvement of Kansas City?

I agree that ATL last year wasn't their norm, but I also think that Carolina falls off.

So top to bottom, do you feel the AFC West is stronger than the NFC South?

I've gotta disagree with that.
