I honestly think he will croak on live tv.
His post fight interviews with Mayweather are priceless though

I hope CBS cans Verne first....

At the moment they just wheel him out once a year or so. I think he's pretty much been replaced by Kellerman. He's going to do the big events, but I think that's more a respect thing. No one wants to fire the old guy. Just give him a scotch and hilarity ensues.

That will sadly never happen

His postfight interview for the Mayweather/Ortiz fight should be fun, he's criticized Ortiz before and always gives him a hard time.
But there is no way he gets fired, he either retires or passes away. Sometimes I think he's a wise old man, other times I think he just a drunk old man.

who's the old guy with the annoying voice that gives his opinion of the judge's scorecards throughout the fights? can't think of his name....he needs to get canned as well.

Naw, Harold Leberman is good, he used to be better. They just recently started letting him commentate on Boxing After Dark. Most of the time he brings up good topics during his scoring.
And Max Kellerman was a lot better when he was with Espn.

Merchant is a moron, and his crazed laugh at his own comments is pretty funny though (and creepy)

Lederman is good and his card is typically pretty accurate - he stays off camera due to shyness/nerves.

merchant reminds me of the old dude in game of thrones. I think he's just fooling us

Yea, Lederman is pretty good. I usually agree with his card.

Come on... who didn't enjoy this particular exchange?
Lampley: "Haye can't complain that the ring is wet."
Merchant "Maybe Haye wet the ring."

Roy Jones shouldn't be allowed near a microphone. Complete moron, makes no sense.

Agree. He was barely coherent and kept giving contradictory advice or insight.
Hey HBO don't get an unorthodox boxer who was a superior athlete to do fight commentary. They can't do it. They don't have the vocabulary.

he was horrible this weekend.. He is not all there...

Actually Roy has been doing commentary for while. He just had an off night, he's been good in the past about on the same level as George Foreman. He definitely knows more about boxing than Merchant and Lampley. Lederman was an official judge in the past, that's why he is so good.
