It's a hell of a lot of fun to play. It's popular in many of the same regions that hockey is (Northeast, parts of the midwest, Colorado) so I don't expect the south to be huge fans of the sport. Though it is not as fun as hockey is to watch live.

your sport will suffer from a public interest standpoint if the main selling point is that the players have to run a lot...seriously, no one really cares.

That is not why it suffers. It suffers because it is not funded by schools. Kids have to pay for their own equipment unlike football.

It's main selling point is hard hits, fast paced game with scoring coming from great passing and hand eye coordination. All things Americans love to see.

Where I live. Football and baseball were the sports kids played when they were too fat and unathletic to play soccer, basketball or lacrosse.

I already said some kids that play baseball aren't very athletic. And yes, fat.

I think that Chicken has somewhat of a point in terms of public interest. Lacrosse is an acquired taste. Most who have played the sport or who have had a child play the sport are fans. Without extensively experiencing the sport its appeal is limited...

It is nice to see the sport grow, but a majority of the lacrosse being played in the south (Louisiana and Texas) right now is... lacking. However, the athleticism is definitely there. It will be interesting to see the sport grow. Especially in the south where there are so many athletes.

Here in Denver there are a few solid teams that could be competitive on the east coast. Of course, having grown up in Maryland, played at a VERY good private school, and played two years of D1 before transferring to UMD(did not play there) I may be a bit biased.
