Is that not on the coach?

Part of it is but Patterson's strength has been redshiriting players and building them up to be solid juniors/seniors. His successful teams were experienced and senior heavy. When Andy Dalton, and all those other seniors who won the Rose Bowl were freshman, he went 7-5 and 4-4 in the MWC.

Then in 2012 he has to play more true freshman than any other team in the country. 2013 was pretty much the same. Roster was 65% freshman/sophomores in 2012 and 61% in 2013. Not to mention losing the starting QB midway in both years.

He will have a bounceback year this year because the QB situation is settled and he has much more experience to work with

Weiss and it's not even close

But he's a GENIUS! He started preparing for USC a year before the Irish would play them! His teams would make adjustments before the half.
I'm so glad to see that fat frick fraud is losing at Kansas.

Weis is the fat fricking poster child of "coaches who have no idea how to develop talent."

He may be a good Xs and Os coach, as he did fine as a coordinator with the Pats and as head coach with Tyrone Whittingham's upperclassmen, but he shite the bed once he had to start relying on the guys he recruited and developed at ND.

Bluntly, his skill-set is NOT going to let him succeed at college football, where developing young talent is key, and the results have shown that.
