What are some a good subjects for sports books not examined enough?

or in today's age of high technology, on-line investigative articles? Two of them come to mind--the first one is officiating--how are officials chosen, scratched, monitored, etc. The second one is an examination of coaches handling the often sensitive subject of determining proper playing time for sons/daughters, while still being fair to the other players. My local high school football team has a huge problem with this--they just finished 0-10, with an assistant coach's son getting way too many chances to the dismay of many fans in particular.

I don't know if it would be a good topic for a book. But I think a good article/story on whether companies that advertise during major sporting events get a good bang for their buck.

I think college recruiting. I know Meat Market but that just mostly focuses on Ole Miss and coach Yaw Yaw.
A collection of stories from present and past coaches about some of their best gets and misses they went through and the work they had to do for them
