Morgantown is paradise compared to anywhere else in WV, other than the Greenbriar i guess.

Lexington is great but they're not really comparable. Lexington is a real city and Morgantown is not.

come on man Bama fans should not be poking fun at our fans after some of their notorious antics.

Yup since it only happens at WVU

At least our fans don't go to other campuses and kill trees.

that's a single fan ... you have large groups of people rioting after a win ... in october ... no one else has the problem at their campuses they way wvu does ... no one ...

I believe the word riot is being overused in some WVU circumstances..

Please do not compare Lexington to Morgantown., if you do, it is laughable. Also, parts of eastern Kentucky is really West Virginia. Charleston is an absolute shite hole....Huntington is a Fricking war zone.

What's funny, is the Prostestors and Blacks around country are trying to compare this to the looting done in Ferguson.

Huntington is right on the edge of Kentucky anyway. But you're right it is an absolute shite hole. I've been there once and hope I am never there again for any reason.

Charleston isn't THAT bad

Only thing Huntington has going for it is the hotdog stand, Italian diners and Marshall. The town is scary when it gets dark. Charleston is meh. Besides the Power Baseball Park and the Gold Dome of the state house, it is a shite hole.

I just laugh because I think of Charleston as a quiet, old person city. The average age in Charleston must be 60+ I've never seen so many fricking old people. Just never really thought of it as a "shite hole" I guess

ETA: we are considering Marshall a "good thing" now?

Hell no. If Marshall did not exist, that town would be worse then Newark, NJ.

I love the folks in WV. They are some good people. Like those in Eastern Kentucky. Majority of them count the days till they get their government assistance or disability checks in the mailboxes and then hitting the local Walmart.

If they need a victory over #4 Baylor as an excuse to burn couches and cause riots they need to just grow up. That is just ridiculous and trashy.

Lexington is a city with a college, horse racing, business hq's, etc. Morgantown is a college town, and this dbaggery aside, a cool one. I've been back because of family & it's a growing, scenic place. The new baseball field is gonna be pimp, even by BXII standards.

No excuse for that bullsh#t, though. I get the enthusiasm - the wins are against a couple of teams that embarrassed them last year, but c'mon, maaan. Not sure if being militant on the field-rushing didn't just make the situation worse.

me too. don't kill 'em but make them wake up in their own blood and vomit in jail the next morning. and don't let 'em be bailed out for 48-72 hours. bring the spoiled fricks down a notch. humble their arse.

The problem is the cops in Morgantown are a bunch of angry meat heads, and turning them and their billy clubs loose on a bunch of unarmed students would make matters 10x worse. Someone would get killed.

The school needs to have a sanctioned event in a designated area where the students can burn the shite in a more controlled matter.

One of the biggest problems is the fires and riots happen all over the town, so it's impossible to contain rather than if they had it confined to one area.

it was thankfully quiet out my way, glad i dont live too close to town.

and for the record, morgantown is more similar to a suburb of pittsburgh than it is most of the rest of WV, not including the northern and eastern panhandles (esp eastern)

For reasons unknown, I laughed heartily at this. Godspeed controlled shite burners!
