What's up baw.
We have a lot in common. I had the Poitevant house along the Pearl River in Pearlington prior to Katrina. Lost my whole gun collection, the house, a lot of hunting gear, etc.
The house was on the historic registrar. Completely made of cypress. When all the cypress from that area was being exported to build the warehouse district in New Orleans, that was the family's office for the mill. We completely renovated it, I moved in, and two weeks later, my house was 200 yards north of where we had left it.
I can't complain. I had neighbors that rode the storm out in my Boston Whaler. It was a story in People magazine.
I still wish we had that house.

WOW, you aren't kidding our stories are very similar.
Besides a firearm collection appraised at 110,000 I also had a civil war relic collection valued at between 125,000 to 150,000.
Louisiana buttons, three pure silver Virginia buttons, about a dozen Mississippi buttons from Calvary to Rifleman.
Also, Confederate staff buttons. War of 1812 8th Regiment button.
My favorite was a 99% gold guilt Army Corps of Engineer button.
Now I feel shitty. Oh well.
State Farm gave me 2,500 for my 100,000 dollar house. frick State Farm with a foot of rusty aids infected barbed wire.
We have to hook up sometime and have a few cold ones and some party favors.
I'm in Slidell. If you don't want to show where you live on TD, you can email me.

I'm not in that part of the state anymore baw, but my folks are in Northshore Estates. I go there to fish. My boat is hangin in dry dock behind their place.
I hit the Rigolets up during the summer. One day I'll grab ya and put ya on some specs.
Leave the drugs in the car baw.

You stupid stupid stupid little man.
Nobody had a clue about the storm surge.
I grabbed what I could. Didn't really know the 40 ft wave that was out there was coming, or that it would remove the house from the foundation. A little flooding wouldn't have been a big deal. But nobody anticipated that surge and it's destruction.
