As a freshman?

I don't remember bush as a fr.

The black mamba has got to be a freshman all-american.

I think Thomas has a chance to be as electrifying and fun to watch as bush.

Especially because he will get a ton of chances for big plans in oregons offense.

DeAnthony would be even better if he took care of the ball.

Bush had 8 total TDs that season.

90 rushes for 564 yards, 3 TDs
15 catches for 314 yards, 4 TDs

1 Kickoff return for a TD.

DeAnthony Thomas has through 6 games:
32 rushes for 264 yards, 4 TDs
21 catches for 310 yards, 4 TDs

So through 6 games, he has as many TDs as Bush had total as a Freshman. and the same receiving yards. Less rushing yards, but 1/3 the carries Bush had.

If you count all purpose yards:

Bush (in 13 games) = 1331 yards

Thomas (through 6 games) = 833 yards

Thomas is on pace for 1,805 All purpose yards and 17 TDs if they play 13 games. It's not that close.

i still hate all purpose yards. kickoff yards are so easy to get compared to yards from scrimmage

De'Anthony is going to need to put on some muscle though he is undersized right now.

Oh, I agree, it is a stupid stat when looking at things comparatively. A player on a team with a shitty defense is going to get tons more kick return yardage.

Looking just at yards from scrimmage:
Bush = 834 yards and 7 TDs
Thomas (projected) = 1244 yards and 17 TDs
