in that short comparison, that looks pretty damning...
I dont see how. First car looks as if it sees the guy and has enough time to go low but Stewart doesn't see the guy so he continues on his path through the turn until its too late. jmo

Damn I'm not a professional driver but if I see the car swerve in front of me I'm going to slow down or swerve with him. I mean shite I do that on the interstate going 70 mph.
This isn't your daily commute, it's a race. They never play follow the leader on the track. Cars pull off all the time for a of reasons in a race.
The vid. looks obvious to me. First car moves to avoid hitting Ward (because he's in his direct line of travel) and the second car never sees him. I don't have a clue what vid some of these people are watching, but it's not what I'm seeing

The trajectory video is pretty obvious he wasn't trying to avoid Ward. Unless you believe he never saw him. Which I don't. I'd imagine if there was a go pro filming Stewart it would have him sticking the bird telling him to eat shite. And then... Oh shite

i don't believe for one second that stewart didn't see him

Not what I was asking you. Are you deliberately avoiding my question?

if they get that go pro footage, he's toast IMO
I don't think they will though as it's destroyed by now

So, to you, it's not even possible that he didn't see him until it was too late?

I think you and I have seen different videos

Pure guess made on a preconceived bias.

Watch the trajectory video...maybe he didn't see him and was going to the right to clip his car again

Have you watched the video in the op?

I have. I don't have anything for or against Stewart but his car moved right after contact which is what you would expect.
Posted on 8/10/14 at 10:32 pm to monsterballads
I watched that. I'll ask again, have you watched the video in the op?

Yep, his only defense can be that he didn't see the guy.
These dudes can see a person in a black suit. One compelling bit to all this is after looking at the design if these cars it does appear that views are obstructed by the front wings on the side.

His car was going right prior to contact
Also his car was in a higher groove than the driver in front of him which would allow for a less obstructed view of Ward...had ward been on the infield his view would have been obstructed. It's all about angles and the fact they had slowed down.
