A good Miami is good for CFB. I do hope Richt can turn things around.

And again tell me how one fan or 106,000 fans makes a difference when you have superior talent

Because getting that superior talent gets expensive, and if you aren't filling up that stadium the football budget gets cut which will lead to loss of funds for recruiting trips and top notch coaches. So yeah, 106,000 is real importnsg

Do you really think ticket sales funds most of an athletic budget?

Or maybe is it sponsorship and alumni groups

We just got done running USC out of AT&T by 52-6

..and the last time we played Miami, at their peak, you got your arse handed to you.

I guess he doesn't know that USC finished #3 and y'all beat them by damn near 50 points on a neutral field.

Was 1992 the peak of the U or was it in the midst of their down slide

Look at 1991 and at 1993

What do you see maybe a downward trajectory in wins

So was it their peak

You didn't face USC's QB until the game was almost over.
Did you see that guy in the Rose Bowl
His toughness, arm strength and leadership was a thing of beauty

Not saying anything about the rest of the years but at their peaks no other university could match their confidence or talent

A peak Miami squad ran their mouths for a month in 1992 and got their asses obliterated in New Orleans by an Alabama team full of kids from places like Opp, Loachapoka, and Camden. That Alabama team struggled to score all season. Beat southern miss 17-10, Louisiana Tech 17-0. Gene Stallings made Les Miles look like Bill Walsh. Yet that confident and talented Miami team got their heads caved in 34-13 by a bunch of dumb farm boys

Ask Lamar Thomas about that superior talent level.

Actually the U was already falling apart by then

The peak of Dennis Erickson was the 1992 team

With 91 being on the uphill trajectory and 1993 being on the downhill with a small slope

That 92 team did not have any 1st rd picks in the following draft drafted while the 90 and 91 teams did

That game was over in the third quarter. I know. I had a front row seat. USC's asses quit. They could have put fricking Tom Brady in there and they would have still got clowned.

I will say that USC found their guy and their identity and were playing lights out at the end of season. Still, it was the same team that got arse raped by 46 points.
