And I even said shitzy might get a set… just can’t see it. Dude is a monster who will STILL improve. That’s scary.

I'm not watching, but is Alcarez beating Tsitsipas like Nadal used to beat Federer at the French?

Djokovic / Alcaraz will be the match of the year so far

I honestly believe the one-handed backhand is headed towards extinction like the serve and volley. I just don't think you can win big in today's game with a one-handed BH. It's too much of a liability in longer baseline rallies.

I've been preaching this for years regarding the one-handed backhand. It's an inferior product.

I'm still on the fence about the serve and volley. I know there are no current examples of players using it, but I see no conceptual reason why it couldn't work. At the very least as an arsenal in a player's toolset.

Modified for completeness.

It's nice to finally have a new generational talent in the sport. It's been like a whole generation since we've had one of those.

The biggest problem is the return of serve. A one-handed backhand ROS will just never ever be as good as the best two-handed ROS.

Maxime Cressy utilizes it. I believe he's the only player in the top 50 who does though. It's a dead style of play in today's game. You can use it every once in a while. Djokovic actually uses serve and volley quite a bit. You just can't build your game around it. Players rackets and string technology are too good. You will just be a sitting duck at the net getting passed every single time.
