I can agree with most of what was said. But the only thing that really bothered me was the stadium crew pumping in the music over the loud speakers. This is college, dammit. ULL has a good sized band that has a very good sound - always have. However, I rarely heard them play. Hell they even started music over the sound system while the band was on the field during pre game playing the school fight song. I think bands are part of what makes college football the best sport out there. They need to stop fricking it up.

You just as most people on this board relate the college game experience to LSU which is a cut above 99% of all schools that play football. Their band is huge and they are obviously a huge part of LSU's pageantry.

With that being said I don't think other schools especially Nicholls should cater to their band. I honestly cannot remember one song they have ever played. NSU would do themselves a favor if they added music and beer to their football games.

I've been to Nicholls games several times, a few years ago when yall were legit, I'd feel different, but yall seriously need to revamp gameday. When LSU is out of town or playing a day game, play at night. I've been to high school games with more energy than Nicholls games. They are extremely boring. Liven it up a bit.

This is what happens when your football program is mediocre.

Throughout your visit, how many times were you interrupted by a ULL fan that started immediately referencing the team's 1996 victory against Texas A&M?

All the stuff you described shouldn't be necessary for a Division 1 football team. All the promotions and "fan friendly" crap you are talking about sounds like stuff that LSU would do for volleyball or soccer.

the LSU elitism is really shocking, I'm surprised so many people actually think LSU tailgating is that awesome.

Yeah, I like the grass because it's something that's always been there but the stadium would actually look much more packed if people sat in the stands rather than out on the hills too.

True, but thats what makes it great for a family to attend a game. You can let the kids play in the grass area without having to worry about them so much, unlike the 'big name' schools, which aren't family oriented at all. But who cares, its all good....

Your school isn't big time until a bunch of rednecks reading on a 4th grade reading level get drunk and yell at women and children.

Yeah, that's the complaint a lot of our fans make too. It's also a complaint LSU fans make as well. The piped in music seems to be a trend that none of the fans like.

It really does suck. Esp when you have solid bands like LSU and ULL have

Glad you had a good time yesterday...you actually took the time to see that maybe we aren't as bad as LSU and the rest of the state paint us out to be.

There's really no way to abbreviate our name. The university doesn't recognize "ULL" (which is why you don't see it on our official gear).

Everyone gets a kick out of how you guys are trying to brand yourselves as Louisiana. Most people still think of you guys as either USL or ULL and not Louisiana at Lafayette. Someone screwed up along the way because no one knows what to call you guys.

You still have a kick arse city though.

Lafayette is better than just about every SEC city not named Nashville.
