Bummed that Ben Nguyen/Justin Scroggins fight is off. Was wanting to see Scroggins again to see if he could duplicate his last performance.

Got a feeling that Mir will be off his game again and Hunt will sneak a shot in for a TKO.

Other fight I wanna see is the first one just for the spectacle of a lanky 5'9 chick taking on a tubby 5'1 chick.

Also surprised there's not more Japanese or Thai fighters on this card. Would have been a great card to pull some of the Tiger MMA guys into the octagon.

I thought Jouban retired for some reason. Thought Te-Huna retired as well, or at least left the UFC. Didn't realize Lombard was back already either....thought his suspension was for a lot longer. Ross Pearson is one more decision loss away from being cut. Kind of a sad card

One more loss and Mark Hunt's pro mma record will be a dismal 11-11-1

And Poirier vs. Bobby Green at 199

To be fair, the kid could probably play his trombone in the general direction as chuck and the sound waves alone would knock chuck out

is mir hunt going to be one of those fights you expect to be over in 30 seconds but ends up going the full 5 rounds? sure seems like it.

You really have no idea what to expect with a Frank Mir fight. Could be a terribly boring, uneventful decision (Cormier, Arlovski, Overeem, etc). Might be a quick KO (Duffee, Bigfoot, etc). It might be a boring arse fight that ends abruptly and unexpectedly (Cro Cop). It might be one of the craziest finishes of all-time (Big Nog). I'm guessing it will be like the Overeem fight, but I have no idea. Maybe Mir will knock out Hunt with a walk-off KO.

Matt Serra going in on the panic wrestler:

quote:

"Not being a cock, but look at Conor. All the shite you talked, take a nap, man. It's not like your arm was about to break. I understand you want your career and if it was a kneebar, you'll be out for six months, but dude, if worst comes to worst, you'll think you're in your bedroom. That's it. You'll wake up like, ‘WTF,' but everything will be alright. I was so fricking happy seeing Nate win. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Conor McGregor, but the shite where he went in on Nate about teaching the kids jiu-jitsu, now look, it's one thing to be witty and this and that, but now you're writing some shite, trying to be clever...you know what? You start crossing lines and your karma is not good, either. You start making fun of the guys teaching jiu-jitsu classes...he could be out in the hood doing dirty shite, but he's in there teaching kids martial arts, you dumb fricker. How dare you. That's fricking stupid. You want to make your money, make your money, but that's stupid. That annoyed me, and I love the Diaz brothers, so when he (Nate Diaz) fricking lit him up, when he started landing, [laughs] I was going nuts. My oldest child does an impersonation of me: I was going ballistic at my in-laws. I was going nuts."

Ufc "close to finalizing" a nate - Conor rematch for ufc 200. I don't get it at all. Conor must have demanded it and ufc had to appease. Trying to prove baebae's loss was a fluke. The article says at welterweight which makes even less sense.

That's weird. If they do that fight, the USA chants will drown out the Irish fanboys. Nate kept saying "this is America" to the american fans that were cheering Conor.

IF and only IF the UFC were smart they'd push Nate and a USA nationalistic pride campaign since UFC 200 falls just a few days after Independence Day. Conor turned heel, might as well soak it up for all it's worth.

Any fight other than Frankie for the belt makes zero sense to me.

Wow. Nate rematch doesn't make any sense, except for the fact that might be the easiest fight for Conor.

I didn't mean that as it will be an easy fight for Conor, but stylistically, he has a better chance to beat Diaz than Frankie for the 145lbs belt. Diaz is willing to stand and trade with him.

Conor has a better chance of beating Nate than a whole bunch of LWs too, imo.

Pettis, Khabib, Ferguson, Edson, Cowboy, etc all beat Conor.

I think if Hunt touches Mir's chin he is going night-night. If Mir can avoid that and tire Hunt, I think he could try to win by submission somehow. I do not see it going the distance, but you never know.

So instead of 2 greats fights (Conor/Edgar and Nate/RDA) we're gonna get 1 fight at the weight class that no one wants to see again.
